Meet our Newest "Fontana Star" - John Romagnoli
Before he became the Athletic Director at A.B. Miller High School, John was a student right here in Fontana.
He attended Fontana Junior High and Fontana High School, where his love
of English literature and sports continued to grow. After
completing his undergrad work as an English/Pre-Med major at Cal State
San Bernardino, John felt pretty certain he would go into the medical field
in some capacity but decided to take a break from school for a while.
He tried out several jobs, including construction, comprehensive PE in a
K-8 private school, and even sales for a tile company. After
taking some time off to travel through Europe, he began subbing at A.B.
Miller in 1996 - and he's been there ever since - teaching English,
coaching basketball, and now as the school's new Athletic Director!

At the beginning of the 2008-09 school year we
began running a new feature on our District website, "Fontana
Star," in which we profile district staff and alumni who are distinguished for
their dedication on behalf of students, commitment to excellence, and notable
accomplishments in service to the Fontana Unified School District. Our District is fortunate to have many
outstanding administrators, teachers, and support staff. But before those
same individuals became principals and teachers (to name just a few
possibilities), they were
students, too. And many were students right here in Fontana!
If you know of a "Fontana Star," particularly one
who as an FUSD alumnus, you can nominate him/her to be featured by emailing
webmaster@fusd.net. Please provide
your name, the name of the individual being nominated, contact information for
both of you and a brief description as to why you think the individual qualifies
as a "Fontana Star."
