To All FUSD Mail Users,
We are experiencing a large amount of email virus attacks.
There are several email viruses currently circulating on the Internet that
appear to be coming from people that you may know. The subject may be
similar to: Delivery failure notice (ID-0000428F). Please ignore
these emails. These are all characteristics of the worm virus, trying to
create chaos on the Internet. We have verified that our defenses are
effectively keeping the viruses OUT of our district. You HAVE NOT
contracted the virus. Just delete these emails.
You may see a link included at the
bottom of your email similar to: www.fusd.net.somebody's name and some
random number.com (Binary attachment). IMPORTANT: DO NOT CLICK THIS
LINK. DO NOT "SAVE or OPEN" this link. This is a deceptive link that
will ALLOW the virus to enter your computer.
In order for us to continue to keep
our district network safe from these attacks, we will temporarily block all
emails from the Internet that contain links to web sites (otherwise known as
Hyperlinks or URLSs). We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We will unblock these emails as soon as the current virus threat has passed.
If you want to learn more about
virus activity or protecting yourself at home, please visit Symantec's website
at: http://www.symantec.com.
We apologize for any inconvenience
the extra email may cause. Be assured that your district email and
computers are protected from these viruses. If you have any concerns about
this, please feel free to contact the Technology Department at (909) 357-5000,
ext. 7075.
