40th Annual Charles Pine Math Field Day
On April
17th, students from 25 Fontana elementary and middle schools participated in the
district's 40th Annual Charles Pine Math Field Day. The event is a
competition between 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in all areas of math
and logic games. Teams from participating schools competed and received
points that determined school winners, and were awarded certificates, ribbons,
and trophies. This event promotes the importance of mathematics,
emphasizes the fun that students can experience while participating, and reward
them for doing well.
At the
May 5th meeting of the Fontana Unified School District Board of Education, Dave
Ackley, Director of Administrative Support and Student Events, and Bill Bobrow,
Math Field Day Coordinator, presented the Math Field Day winners to the Board
and recognized their outstanding achievement. The winning teams are listed
below.
