Marine JROTC Receives Naval Honor School Award
Congratulations to Fontana High School's Marine JROTC (Junior Officer Training
Corps), who received the Naval Honor School Award for the 2003-04 school year.
The Naval Honor School Award is given to the top 20% of Marine and Navy JROTC
units.
This is the fourth award for the Fontana Marine JROTC unit,
which was established in 1990 at Fontana. The award is based on the
result of a formal inspection which is conducted by a Marine Inspection Team
from San Diego every two years. Cadets are inspected for their appearance,
knowledge of military science, and performance of military drill and color
guard. The unit is also inspected in the areas of training, administrative
records, and supply records and procedures.
The prestigious Naval Honor School Award is a very competitive
award, and the result of hard work by the 250 cadets in the Fontana High School
Marine JROTC Program.
