Postponement of Opening of Summit High School

On April 6, 2005 the Governing Board of the Fontana Unified School District took action to postpone the opening of Summit High School until the Summer session of 2006.  This action was necessary as a result of delays in the school construction process caused by the unusually severe winter weather and other factors.

This decision has been made to ensure the health and safety of all students and to provide a complete educational experience for each student.  We regret any inconvenience which may have been caused by this change but we are convinced that it is the best decision for our students.

Notification letters were sent to students who would have been affected by boundary changes:

• Current 9th grade students attending Fontana High School
• Current 8th grade students who reside in the adopted Summit boundaries
• Current 9th grade students who reside in the adopted Summit boundaries
