On April 17, 2005, twenty Fontana High School students competed at the annual
California State Skills and Leadership Conference. The students competed
in six areas: Speech, Drafting, Collision Repair, Cabinetmaking,
Machining, and Welding. This year, Fontana High School students were awarded

Precision Machining and Combination Welding are national contests and
Miguel Frias and Juan Hernandez will be representing Fontana High School and
the State of California at the National SkillsUSA Championships in Kansas
City, Missouri on June 20-24, 2005.
The Fontana Unified School District is proud of all of the Fontana students
who competed so successfully in the California State Skills and Leadership
Conference and wish Miguel and Juan the best of luck at Nationals.
