district and county administration, and local government representatives are

The Language Acquisition
School opened its doors in September 2004. It currently serves over
160 middle and high school non-English speaking students who are newcomers to
the country. The purpose of the school is to provide an intensive and focused
English language acquisition program. The Language Acquisition School’s goal is
to enhance student potential for success in transitioning to comprehensive high
schools.
The students attending the school earn high
school elective and graduation credits. In addition, students cultivate
positive self-confidence, appreciation of cultural diversity, and participate in
academically challenging activities.
The Language Acquisition School is located in the District Office complex, on
the corner of San Bernardino and Citrus Avenues (across the street from Fontana
High School). The school is part of the Alternative Language and
Assessment Center project which includes the District's Enrollment Center.
It was designed by architects Perkins & Will. The contractor for the
project was Gamut Construction.
