On April 20, 2005, the Fontana Unified School District's Board of Education adopted Resolution 05-25 authorizing the designation of May 11, 2005, as "Day of the Teacher."

Teachers work to open student's minds to ideas, knowledge, and dreams.  They fill many roles, as listeners, explorers, role models, motivators, and mentors.  Teachers work with commitment in forwarding the mission of the Fontana Unified School District and provide many benefits to the community.  FUSD joins the State of California in setting aside May 11, 2005, as a fitting time to honor our teachers and recognize their long and excellent service records.
