On May 18, 2005, the Fontana Unified School District's Board of Education
adopted new District Goals.
District goals provide a focus for all staff members to
work towards in order to provide the best educational program for all students.
These goals are set by the Board of Education and as multi-year goals, they
provide for student achievement across grade levels.
Stakeholders from throughout the district have provided
input on the 2005-08 district goals. District Advisory Committee meetings held
in February through April provided committee members the opportunity for giving
input on the development of the 2005-08 district goals. Principals and
department heads met with their staffs as well to gather input. The Single
School Plan for every school was reviewed to ensure that the district goals
align with both the school plans and the Local Education Agency Plan (LEAP). A
draft of the district goals was presented to the Parent/Superintendent’s Council
on April 6, 2005 to gather additional input. The District Goal Writing
Committee, made up of both district and school site administrators, met to
finalize the draft of the district goals. The goals were then presented in
draft form to the Board informally in April 2005.
