41st Annual Charles Pine Math Field Day
At
the May 18th meeting of the Fontana Unified School District Board of Education,
Gail Grant, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, presented Tanika
Ng, Math Field Day Coordinator, the Math Field Day Winners and their Coaches to the Board
and recognized their outstanding achievement.
On May
7th, students from 24 Fontana elementary and middle schools participated in the
district's 41st Annual Charles Pine Math Field Day. The event is a
competition between 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in all areas of math
and logic games. Teams from participating schools competed and received
points that determined school winners, and were awarded certificates, ribbons,
and trophies. This event promotes the importance of mathematics,
emphasizes the fun that students can experience while participating, and reward
them for doing well.
