It’s no
coincidence that since December, you’ve been getting less Spam. For the last
five months, the Technology Department has been testing a new filter to
effectively stop Spam from pouring into your mailbox while ensuring legitimate
email is delivered.
There are many
Spam blockers on the market and finding just the right one to fit our needs has
been no easy task. However, the Spam blocker we’ve been piloting has a high
accuracy rate and a near-zero false positive rate (legitimate
emails that are blocked unnecessarily because they are mistaken for Spam).
Since November
the District has received over 5 million incoming emails. Of those, 85% have
been Spam – that’s a lot of unwanted mail. Due to the success of the pilot, and
to the great feedback we have received, we have purchased the Spam blocking
program and will be able to continue to provide this service to our FUSD account
users.
If you believe
an email has been
falsely tagged as being Spam, please inform the
webmaster@fusd.net.
