At their May 3, 2006 meeting, the FUSD Board of Education adopted Resolution #06-30 authorizing the designation of May 10, 2006, as "Day of the Teacher."

Teachers work to open student's minds to ideas, knowledge, and dreams.  They fill many roles, as listeners, explorers, role models, motivators, and mentors.  Teachers work with commitment in forwarding the mission of the Fontana Unified School District and provide many benefits to the community, its schools, and the state of California.

The Fontana Unified School District joins the State of California in setting aside May 10, 2006, as a fitting time to honor our teachers and recognize their long and excellent service records.
