On March 31, Assembly Member Bill Emmerson (R-Redlands)
recognized sixty-three Women of Distinction from the 63rd Assembly District.
Gillian Zucker, President of the California Speedway was named 2006 Woman of
the Year. We are proud to announce that two of the Women of
Distinction are from the Fontana Unified School District: Pam Tuttle,
Coordinator of Community/Agency Partnerships and
Career Technical Program Development, and Lydia Wibert, Child Welfare and
Attendance Community Liaison.
The following excerpts are from the program
for the 2nd Annual Women of Distinction luncheon:
Pam Tuttle is an employee of the
Fontana Unified School District. She gets paid for the great work she
does, as a community activist and a volunteer. She does not get paid in
money, but "thank yous." She is a volunteer for Relay For Life, the
Old-Timers Foundation, High Rise for Seniors, and Sons of Italy. Be it the
youth she works with or other senior citizens she volunteers with, Pam is very
active. It's common knowledge that if you want something done and done
right, ask Pam Tuttle to do it.
Lydia Wibert is a Child Welfare and
Attendance liaison for the Fontana Unified School District and she does her job
with a passion. As a community activist, she is involved in many areas.
She is a volunteer for Fontana Boys and Girls Club and the Fontana Police
Department. She sits on the Fontana City Park and Recreation Commission
and the Youth Accountability Board. She was one of the folks who started
the Fontana Santa with Fontana School Police and the Fontana Police Department.
She is truly a kindred spirit.
