
At their April 5, 2006 meeting, the FUSD
Board of Education adopted
Resolution #06-22
recognizing Beatrice (Bea) Watson for her various contributions to the city of
Fontana and its community members.
Bea Watson has been a Fontana
resident for 40 years and has served the community as both an elected official
and a community volunteer. She served as on the City Council from 1992 to
1996 and as has held the post of City Clerk since 1998.
She has been involved in
numerous organizations such as Fontana Woman's Club, Industrial Support System,
Fontana Historical Society, Chamber of Commerce, Fontana Exchange Club, Kaiser
Home Health Agency, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #772.
Bea Watson has received
numerous awards, including Outstanding and Dedicated Service from the Exchange
Club, a Congressional Community Leadership Award, The Sun's "Hero
of the Week", and was selected as Woman of the Year for the 32nd Senatorial
District.
Her involvement in community
service has included serving the Board of Directors for the Fontana Unified
School District Acquisition Corporation, as a Board Member for the Fontana Teen
Center, as a member of the 50th and 75th Anniversary Committees for the City of
Fontana, and as a member of the Fontana General Plan Advisory Committees.
One of her favorite city projects was hosting the "Community Forum" cable
television series which featured productive citizens of the city of Fontana.
The Fontana Unified School

and unwavering service to the City of Fontana and its community members.
