At their March 1, 2006 meeting, the FUSD
Board of Education adopted
Resolution #06-9
declaring March 2006 as Women's History Month.
Despite their varied contributions, the role
of women in history has been generally overlooked and undervalued.
American's have only recognized Women's History Month since 1987. However,
the curriculum of the Fontana Unified School District, guided by the California
State Content Standards, recognizes these contributions.
This year's theme "Women: Builders of Communities and Dreams" honors the spirit of
possibility and hope set in motion by generations of women.
The Board of Education of the Fontana
Unified School District supports March 2006 as Women's History Month and
encourages all employees to commemorate this month with appropriate programs,
activities, and recognitions.
