During the four-county regional fair held April
17-18, more than 75,000 fourth through twelfth grade students from Riverside,
Inyo, Mono and San Bernardino (RIMS) counties competed for approximately 900
slots. Students received gold, silver and bronze medals, with the top two
winners in each category in the Junior and Senior divisions selected to
participate at the state level. Ten students from the Fontana Unified
School District participated in the 2007 Inland Area Science and Engineering
Fair at the National Orange Show.
Individual and group projects were judged in 19
categories of science - from microbiology to zoology, math and physics to
electronics, and consumer sciences to earth sciences. Only gold medal
winners in the junior and senior divisions advance to the state competition.
Although, FUSD did not have any gold medal winners, we did have several silver
and bronze medal winners.
