Four FUSD Women Honored as "Women of Distinction"
Assemblyman Bill Emmerson,
R-Redlands, honored 63 women from his 63rd District (San
Bernardino and Riverside counties) on March 29 to celebrate
Women's History Month. The women were nominated by
community organizations as a "Woman of Distinction."
Heading the list was 2007 Woman of the Year, Dr. Carla Lidner Baum,
a member of the faculties of Loma Linda's School of
Dentistry and UCLA's School of Dentistry.
Fontana Unified School
District is proud to have four staff members honored at the event as Women of
Distinction:
Jane Smith (Superintendent), Cali Olsen-Binks (Deputy
Superintendent - School Support), Janet Koehler-Brooks
(Counselor - Truman Middle School and City Treasurer for the
City of Fontana), and BarBara Chavez (Teachers Aide - Citrus
High School and Past President of USWA).
"These very special women are making a positive
difference and are truly soaring to new heights," Assemblyman Emmerson said in a
news release.
