Making History in Fontana
On Saturday, March 24, the
county-wide History Day celebration was held at A. B. Miller High School.
Of the 64 awards given, 30 went to schools and students from Fontana!!
Of eight
awards at the elementary
level, Canyon Crest received
four and Locust and West
Randall each received one.
Truman Middle
School earned 6 awards;
Sequoia earned 6; Jurupa Hills
earned 4, and Southridge
earned 3. In the highly
competitive category of Junior
Individual Exhibits, there
were 33 entries, and Jurupa
and Southridge took 3 out of 4
of the top awards! Of the 22
entries in Junior Group
Exhibits, Fontana schools won
all four top awards (Sequoia,
Jurupa, and Southridge).
Outstanding work!
At the high
school level, A. B. Miller
brought home 3 awards and
Summit, in their inaugural
appearance, won their first
championship.
To all teachers
and all students who participated
in this great event, we thank you
for the time and talents you have
demonstrated. You’ve truly
made learning come alive.
