Kaiser HS Presents "Into the Woods"
Join Kaiser High School's Theatre Department for
Into the Woods,
Stephen Sondheim's Tony
Award-winning
musical. Based on "Grimm's Fairy Tales," Into the Woods finds a number of
fairy tales mixed-up in a story that charts the impact of wishes and actions
without worrying about the consequences.
Into the Woods intertwines the stories of
various familiar fairy tales with an original story of a childless Baker (played
by Jacob Young) and his Wife (played by Nicole Sears), who are the focus of the story by
attempting to reverse a curse on their family by a Witch (played by Andrinesha
Dickson) in order to have a child, thus
creating a single even bigger fairy tale. All of the stories, including
Jack (played by Mickenzie Jones) and the Beanstalk, Cinderella (played by
Yesenia Gomez), and
Rapunzel (played by Jessica Martinez), involve a trek through the woods, each getting
tangled up with the others. After the "happily ever after" of the first
act, the characters return to discover everything has a price; everyone must pay
in turn.
The cast also includes, in order of appearance: Page
Gibson, Georgina Montes, Solange Ramirez, Berenice Garcia, Maria Bonilla,
Jonathan Mendoza, Vicky Harris, Victor Uribe, Julianna Castillo, Zachary Valdez,
Bonnie Lehman, Eric Grijalva, Luis Huante, Mayra Garcia, Cindy Wang, Veronica
Perez, and Tyler Holbrook.
Performances will be March 1st, at 5:30 p.m. and March 2nd & 3rd at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are $12 for children, students, faculty, staff and seniors; all others
are $15. All seats are assigned and sold on a first come, first served
basis. Tickets may be purchased in advance in the Multi-Purpose Room after
