Fontana High Presents South Pacific
Join Fontana High School's Theatre Department for their performance of
the Tony Award-winning musical, "South Pacific." "South
Pacific" is based on James
Michener's Pulitzer Prize-winning collection of stories, "Tales of the South
Pacific," with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II.
Set against
the dramatic backdrop of the Second World War, a beautiful French Polynesian
island is plunged into the centre of conflict. American marines, sailors
and nurses rub shoulders with the French settlers, while the native islanders
look on – inscrutable or outrageous by turns.
The
story follows two parallel romances: one between Ensign Nellie Forbush (played
by Crystal juarez), a Navy nurse, and Emile de Becque (played by Aaron Molina), a wealthy French
plantation-owner; the other between Liat (played by Wein Erica Sua), a native girl, and a
young American Marine, Lt. Joseph Cable (played by Jordan Arana), whose secret mission
on the island could help change the course of the war.
The cast also includes Jonathan Arana,
Erick Arzate, Melissa Baas, James Bentley, Dennis Clement, Raul Contreras,
Alejandra Cortez, Adriana Elicea, Jessica Gamboa, Erik Gonzalez, Evelyn
Gonzalez, Laura King, Leslie Morales, Natalie Reyes, Ana Rodriguez, Andre
Rodriguez, Roxana Sandoval, Gerald Smith, Jimi Taylor and Linda Tran. You might
even see a few Fohi staff faces in the crowd!

7:00 pm; and Sunday, March 11 at 2:30 pm. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8
