FUSD Staff & Students Receive "Highest Caliber Achievement Award"
On
May 21, 2008, Vista Metals presented
their "Highest Caliber Achievement
Award." Principals from each
of FUSD's four comprehensive high
schools received $1000 for use at
their school site and one teacher and
one senior student were selected from each school
to receive $1000 competitive
scholarships.
Winners of the Highest Caliber Achievement Award
were selected by their demonstration of personal achievement in education,
community involvement, family affairs, and extra-curricular activities.

"We were overwhelmed with the outstanding
applications and essays we received from teachers and students at the Fontana
high schools. Our goal with this award is to encourage high caliber
performance and continue to improve this great community," said Andy Primack,
president of Vista Metals.
Vista Metals in a local secondary aluminum
smelter which has been an active member of the Fontana business community since
1968. This is the second year Vista Metals has sponsored their scholarship award.
