Four Fontana Schools Receive SPARC Awards
The
Fontana Unified School District is proud to announce that four of our schools
have received awards for their Support Personnel Accountability Report Cards (SPARC):
Mango Elementary School, and Sequoia, Almeria, and Fontana Middle Schools.
Truman Middle School and Kaiser High School both received Certificates of
Commendation.
SPARCs are a continuous improvement tool that give a school site the
opportunity to demonstrate effective communication and a commitment to getting
results. Modeled after the School Accountability Report Card (SARC), the SPARC
was developed by
an advisory group of Los Angeles County counselors and consultants, counselor
administrators, counselor educators and California Department of Education
consultants.
The schools' administrative and counseling
teams worked on the document all year and submitted them for review at the
beginning of March.
The SPARCs for Mango Elementary, and Sequoia, Almeria, and Fontana Truman Middle
School received recognition from
the California Counselor Leadership Academy at an awards ceremony at Cal Poly
Pomona on April 4. Links to their SPARCs are
provided below.
