Vals, Sals and Special Honors
This past week, Fontana's high schools held their graduation ceremonies.
Valedictorians and Salutatorians were selected at each of the high schools.
Meet these outstanding young men and women.

A.B. Miller High
School |

Valedictorian - Bryan Chaidez
Bryan will be attending UCLA in the fall. He plans to major in
Computer Science and to start his own business.
Salutatorian - Roberth Machado
Roberth received the prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship and will be
attending U.C. Berkeley this fall. He plans to major in Architecture.
Salutatorian - Jose Marquez
Jose received the prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship and will be
attending M.I.T. this fall. He is majoring in Aerospace Engineering and
plans to petition for a double major in Astrophysics.

Valedictorian - Laura Froelich
Laura will be attending the University of Redlands in the fall. She
plans to major in Psychology and go into the therapy and counseling field.
Salutatorian - Karla Avila-Valencia
Karla will be attending Cal State San Bernardino in the fall. She
plans to major in History and would like to work in the archives of a museum.

Valedictorian - Catalina Ramirez Hernandez
Catalina received the prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship and will be
attending Brown University in the fall. She plans to major in Political
Science with a minor in Psychology and eventually go into politics.
Valedictorian - Arturo Turrubiartes
Arturo will be attending University of Southern California in the fall.
He plans to major in Business and go into politics.
Salutatorian - Noriel Luna
Noriel received the QuestBridge Scholarship and will be attending Yale
University in the fall. He plans to major in Political Science and go into
law.
Salutatorian - Megan Perez
Megan received both the Partnership for Community Foundation Scholarship and the
UCLA Alumni Scholarship for the Inland Empire. She was also a
semi-finalist for the Gates Millennium Scholarship. Megan will be
attending UCLA in the fall, majoring in Political Science. She plans to go
into politics.
