Two Fontana Schools Receive SPARC Awards
The
Fontana Unified School District is proud to announce that two of our schools
have received awards for their 2008-09 Support Personnel Accountability Report Cards (SPARC):
Almeria and Sequoia Middle Schools.
Truman Middle and Birch, Kaiser, and Summit High Schools each received Certificates
of Commendation.
SPARCs are a continuous improvement tool that give a school site the
opportunity to demonstrate effective communication and a commitment to getting
results. Modeled after the School Accountability Report Card (SARC), the SPARC
was developed by
an advisory group of Los Angeles County counselors and consultants, counselor
administrators, counselor educators and California Department of Education
consultants.
The schools' administrative and counseling
teams worked on the document all year and submitted them for review at the
beginning of March.
The SPARCs for Almeria and Sequoia Middle Schools received recognition from
the California Counselor Leadership Academy at the Southern California SPARC
Academy Awards Ceremony at Cal Poly
Pomona on April 24, 2009. Links to their SPARCs are
provided below.
