"A Day Made Better" for Live Oak Teacher
October 6 , 2009, began like
any other day for Live Oak Elementary School Teacher Jeff McGlocklin but
thanks to OfficeMax, it was "A Day Made Better."
In an effort to provide economic relief for teachers
and encourage national support, hundreds of OfficeMax associates - working
secretly with principals - honored teachers with classroom donations of
much-needed school supplies on Tuesday. One thousand teachers at
1,000 schools around the country were selected by their principals to be
recognized as part of "A Day Made Better," OfficeMax's national campaign.
Principal Ricardo Chaparro nominated Mr. McGlocklin for his outstanding work
with Live Oak's Accelerated Reading program.
Mr. McGlocklin was surprised by with an in-class ceremony where he received
more than $1,000 worth of supplies for his classroom, including a new teacher chair, printer,
digital camera, and paper.
