Congratulations to the Class of 2010!

Dear Fontana Community,

This time of year is wonderful and yet bittersweet.  It is marked by celebrations of the many accomplishments of our students and difficult partings as we bid our senior class farewell.

There are approximately 2871 students graduating in the Class of 2010 (A.B. Miller – 605, Fohi – 680, Kaiser – 579, Summit – 540, Birch – 180, Citrus – 197, and Fontana Adult School – 90).  Many of these students have attended Fontana schools since they entered kindergarten in 1997. It has been our job to educate, inspire, and empower our diverse learners and to help shape their futures so they can accomplish their dreams and make positive contributions to their community and world.  I believe we have done a very good job of preparing these 2871 young men and women. Many of our graduates will go on to college or to a trade school.  Some will serve our country in the Armed Forces, while others will immediately enter the work force.  Regardless of the path they take, our graduates are inheriting a world far different than when they started as kindergarteners thirteen years ago.

Class of 2010, we have done our best to prepare you for what comes next.  The end of high school is the beginning of the rest of your life.  It is an opportunity to continue on the right path or to turn over a new leaf and start fresh.  The choices you make from this point on will mold the life ahead of you.  Make a plan for your future and make it count.

Thank you to the many teachers who gave our students an outstanding education and to our Fontana parents for all that you do each day.  Educating children is a partnership between the school and home, and it is this relationship that enables our students to be successful.

On behalf of the Fontana Unified School District and the Board of Education, I congratulate our graduates and wish them much success and happiness.  You have made us proud and you will make us even prouder in the future.

Best Wishes,

Cali L. Olsen-Binks
Superintendent
