Last week
(March 26-28), the Summit High School JV and Varsity Cheer Teams competed
against thousands of squads from all over the United States and Canada at the
23rd Annual USA Spirit Nationals held at Disneyland. The results were
cheer-worthy indeed.
The teams were judged on tumbling, sharpness with motions, stunting, level of
difficulty, showmanship, choreography, jumps, kicks, and how well they can lead
a crowd using pompoms or signs. The JV Team placed seventh in their
division with a routine Summit's Cheer Coach, Kyle Bruich, referred to as
perfect. He said the Varsity Team performed their routine flawlessly.
They landed a spot in
the finals along with 15 other squads in their division and ended up bringing
home the third place trophy.
