AP Scholars at Miller Recognized
Fourteen students at
A.B. Miller High School have
earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on
Advanced Placement Exams.
The College Board's Advanced Placement Program (AP)
provides motivated and academically prepared students with the opportunity to
take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn
college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP
Exams.
Princess Lumban-Gaol and Tiffany Valenzuela qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at
least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of
these exams.
Twelve students qualified for the AP Scholar Award
by completing three or more AP Exams with grades of 3 or higher. The AP
Scholars are Erika Avila, Natalia Estrada, Aisha
Gonzalez, Axel Gutierrez, Brenda Lopez, Stacey Ma, Michelle Ramirez, Ernesto
Reyes, Freddie Sanchez, Maya Sanchez, Paola Sandoval, and Ivan Torres.
Of this year's award recipients at Miller, three were juniors at the time
of the exams:
Erika Avila, Michelle Ramirez, and Paola Sandoval. These students have at least one more year in which to
complete college-level work and possibly earn a higher-level AP Scholar Award.
