Stay Cool and Beat the Heat!


Heat got you down?  With temperatures reaching well over 100o  this summer, citizens are reminded to watch for symptoms of heat-related disorders.  Click here to download a public service announcement from the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health explaining factors warning signs.

The City of Fontana offers several options for keeping cool.  Take advantage of the public swimming pools and cooling centers.

Swimming Pools

The City's recreational swimming times are a great way to enjoy the water in the middle of the day under the summer sun or on a warm summer evening with family and friends.  Each of the following City pools is open during the summer.

  • Fontana Aquatic Center
    15610 Summit Avenue, Fontana
    (909) 854-5111
    Pool Hours:  Monday through Friday, 12 noon to 4 pm and 6:30 to 8:30 pm; Saturday and Sunday, 12 noon to 4:30 pm.  Dive-in movies on Sundays - 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
    Fees:  Adults - $7 for slides, $5 for swim; Children - $5 for slides, $3 for swim.

  • Heritage Pool
    7350 W. Liberty Parkway, Fontana

    Pool Hours:  Monday through Friday, 12 noon to 4 pm and 6:30 to 8:30 pm; Saturday, 12 noon to 4:30 pm and 6:30 to 8:30 pm; Sunday, 12 noon to 4:30 pm.
    Fees:  Adults - $3; Children -$1.50
     
  • Miller Pool
    17004 Arrow Boulevard, Fontana

    Pool Hours:  Monday through Friday, 12 noon to 4 pm and 6:30 to 8:30 pm; Saturday, 12 noon to 4:30 pm and 6:30 to 8:30 pm; Sunday, 12 noon to 4:30 pm.
    Fees:  Adults - $3; Children -$1.50
     
  • Don Day Pool

    Pool Hours:  Monday through Friday, 12 noon to 4 pm and 6:30 to 8:30 pm; Saturday, 12 noon to 4:30 pm and 6:30 to 8:30 pm; Sunday, 12 noon to 4:30 pm.
    Fees:  Adults - $3; Children -$1.50

Cooling Stations

The following locations have been designated as Cooling Stations to provide area residents a place to relax and cool down during periods of intense heat throughout the summer months.  Everyone is welcome.

  • Jack Bulik Teen Center

  • Cypress Center

    Hours:  Monday through Friday - 8 am to 8 pm; Saturday - 8 am to noon.
     
  • Fontana Lewis Library & Technology Center

    Hours:  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 10 am to 9 pm
    Friday, Saturday - 10 am to 6 pm
    Sunday - 12 noon to 5 pm

  • George White Senior Center

    Hours:  Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm; Saturday, 8:30 am to 12 noon
