On
December 7, 2009, the Fontana Unified School District School Police kicked-off
their second annual competition to collect aluminum can pop tops.
This
year's competition will run through the end of January and once again pits
Fontana elementary schools against each other to win a special public safety
assembly for their school. But the real winner of the competition is the
Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House, as all proceeds will go directly to benefit
the charity.
FUSD Police Chief Bob Ratcliffe is challenging the schools to beat last
year's district total of 607 pounds and Chaparral Elementary School's individual
total of 119 pounds.
If you would like to donate your pop tops, you can drop them off at FUSD
School Police Services. Monetary donations are also accepted.
