Dear Fontana Community,
In light of the unprecedented fiscal crisis in the state of California, Fontana
Unified School District has been forced to make reductions and eliminations to
several programs, as well as to staff. The budget reduction in place for
this year was over $17 million. The budget reductions needed for the
2010-11 school year is $30 million. $47 million will be taken from the students
in Fontana Unified School District in just two years!
On March 4, 2010 the Fontana Unified School District will join hand in hand with
the Fontana Teachers Association, United Steel Workers, Police Officer’s
Association and the Fontana Management Association to “Start the Day for
Students and California’s Future.” You can unite with us on behalf of our
students before the start of school on the morning of March 4th.
Fontana Unified School District is committed to our mission of graduating all
students prepared to succeed in a changing world and we need your partnership.
Best Wishes,
Cali L. Olsen-Binks
Superintendent
