Dear Parents,
The beginning of the new school year is fast approaching. Soon, your child will
be going back to school – and so will you!
The new school year will bring with it many new challenges, as well as rewards. Your child will have new teachers to meet, new books to read, new friends to
make, and new skills to master. I hope that you will be able to share in these
exciting times.
You and your child’s teacher form a partnership in the learning process. Parent
involvement is one of the key components of a child’s academic success. It is
through your nurturing and guidance that your child will develop a true love of
learning. Your enthusiasm inspires your child to do his very best.
As a parent, I know how important these years are and how quickly they go by. I
want to encourage you to take time from your busy schedule to get to know your
child’s teacher and become familiar with your child’s school. From attending
Open Houses and Parent Conferences, to taking an interest in the work your child
brings home, to volunteering in school and at events, parental involvement can
have an incomparable impact on student performance.
On behalf of the Board of Education and the entire Fontana Unified School
District, I want to thank you for your commitment to your child’s education. Let’s get ready to go back to school!
Best Wishes,
Cali L. Olsen-Binks
Superintendent
