On Saturday, November 20, 2010, students, staff, and community members
attended the Dedication Ceremony of Fontana’s newest school, Jurupa Hills High School.
The crowd gathered inside the
school to celebrate this much
anticipated day.
The Jurupa Hills students and
staff were all really excited to
show-off their new
state-of-the-art facility and
after the official ceremony,
attendees were given tours by
enthusiastic ASB students. "I've
been waiting for this day to
come, because I wanted to get
people here so they could see
how wonderful the school is,"
said Principal Victor Uribe .
Located at 10700 Oleander Avenue, between Slover and Santa Ana Avenues, Fontana’s fifth high school was designed to accommodate 2100 students in grades 9-12, with the potential to grow to a capacity of 3200. Jurupa Hills High opened in August of 2010 with approximately 1,050 students in grades 9-10.
The new school has been constructed in an all-under-one-roof concept, which includes spaces for administration, media/library, classrooms, food services, and a performing arts theater. The 45-acre site also has a 4000 seat football stadium. Jurupa Hills High School was designed by WLC and the construction management firm is Neff Construction, Inc. The
school was built with Measure C funds. |
