Young Scientists Compete at District Science Fair

On Saturday, February 26, 2011, the Fontana Unified School District held its annual Science Fair and this year’s competition had our greatest participation level yet.  Approximately 202 students with 154 projects from schools throughout the district participated and of those, 18 individual and 5 teams will be advancing to the county competition.

The District's Coordinator of Secondary Instruction, Kelly Willis, who coordinated the district’s Science Fair, stated “We’re very proud of their accomplishments.  All the students took great pride and ownership of their projects.”  Kudos to all our young biologists, physicists, chemists, and environmentalists on a job well done!

The students advancing to the county competition are listed below.  At the RIMS County Science and Engineering Fair, they will compete against students from all over San Bernardino, Riverside, Inyo, and Mono counties.  The RIMS County Science and Engineering Fair will be held on April 4-5, 2011, at the Orange Show Fairgrounds in San Bernardino.
