National Day of Mourning


Fontana Unified School District Open Friday

In memory and tribute of  President Ronald Reagan, President George W. Bush has declared Friday, June 11, 2004 as a National Day of Mourning.  All schools in the Fontana Unified School District, as well as the District Office and all associated departments will be open.

  • All federal and most state offices will be closed on Friday.
  • San Bernardino County courts will be open, as will most county government offices.
  • County branch libraries and offices for child support services, regional parks and the redevelopment agency will be closed.
  • There will be no mail delivery on Friday.
  • Omnitrans buses will operate on a regular schedule.
  • Schools and colleges that are in session will remain open.
  • Financial institutions and stores will be open.
