Congratulations to the Class of 2017!

Dear Fontana Community,

With just a few days remaining in the 2016-17 school year, it’s amazing to see how quickly this year has passed. I want to take this opportunity to commend our students, teachers, administrators, and support staff on a successful and productive year. The Fontana Unified team continues to make a difference in the lives of our students, families, and community.

The end of the year is when we celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates. Commencement ceremonies are set to be held for our five high schools, two continuation high schools, and adult school. These ceremonies will celebrate the accomplishments of 3,087 students (A.B. Miller – 503, Fohi – 489, Jurupa Hills - 454, Kaiser – 539, Summit – 620, Birch – 124, Citrus – 113, and Fontana Adult School – 245) who have worked hard and will soon be attending college, trade school, becoming members of our workforce, or go on to serve our country in the armed forces. It has been our privilege to have been a part of our graduates’ preparation for life beyond high school.

In addition to saying farewell to the Class of 2017, we will also be saying goodbye to our retiring staff members (117, at last count). These administrators, teachers, and support staff have given tirelessly of their time and lives to our students. We appreciate their many years of service and wish our friends the best as they enter into the next phase of their lives.

On behalf of the Fontana Unified School District and the Board of Education, I congratulate our graduates and retirees and wish them success and happiness in their future endeavors. To returning students and staff, have a fun and relaxing summer; we look forward to seeing you rested and ready to go in August.

Best Wishes,

Randal S. Bassett

Happy FUSD Student
