Meet Miki Inbody, Associate Superintendent of Teaching and Learning

Miki InbodyAt the June 7, 2017, meeting of the FUSD Board of Education, the Board approved Miki McCabe Inbody as the new Associate Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.

Ms. Inbody is a proud product of the Fontana Unified School District where she was a student and graduate of FUSD. She attended Maple Elementary School, Alder Junior High School, and Fontana High School.

When she was growing-up, she dreamed of being many things. “At one point, I wanted to be a nurse,” she said. “On a different day, I considered the Army. The idea of being a stewardess (now a flight attendant) sounded interesting.” It was her work as a high school peer counselor that sparked her interest in pursuing a career in education. “Overall, I think I just wanted to work with people and serve. Fortunately, dreams do come true.”

After graduation, with her FUSD $75 scholarship, she attended Chaffey College and California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies. She later attended University of California, Riverside to earn her Teaching Credential. Returning to CSUSB, she completed her Master’s Degree in Education Administration and her Administrative Credential.

Ms. Inbody spent the majority of her professional career in Fontana Unified School District, first as a Teacher, Dean of School Improvement, Assistant Principal, Principal and ultimately the Director of Professional Development & Teacher Support. She has been with the Redlands Unified School District for the past 6 years as the Director of Curriculum & Instruction and most recently as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services.

“I am so grateful to be back in Fontana and rejoin the ranks of the Fontana Family,” said Ms. Inbody. “I feel like I am coming home.” She is ecstatic to serve the Fontana community that embraced her own family and will strive to do what’s best for every child.

We look forward to Ms. Inbody’s return to the Fontana Unified School District. Her first day will be on July 18, 2017.

Fontana Fun FactMs. Inbody loves to cycle and hike whenever possible and has been nicknamed by friends as a ‘cyclepath.’
