Recognitions at the September 27th Board Meeting
During each monthly Board of Education meeting, time is allotted for recognition of students, staff, business partners, and schools that bring honor to the Fontana Unified School District and further its mission to improve the quality of education. There were several recognized at the Board Meeting on September 27, 2017.
Pledge of Allegiance
Esli Ndentsoa, a fifth grade student at Date Elementary School, was selected to lead the Board of Education in the Pledge of Allegiance.
"Esli was selected because she is a model of Date's three schoolwide expectations: responsible, respectful and engaged," said Superintendent Randal Bassett. "Esli exemplifies characteristics of a natural leader. She carries herself with poise and exemplifies a maturity beyond her years. She serves as student leader in Date's Expanded Learning program and frequently volunteers to help others during the school day. On her last report card, Esli met or exceeded all grade level standards. Her previous teacher reported that she grasps concepts quickly and looks for opportunities to challenge herself. Esli is polite, kind and articulate. She treats her peers and adults with respect. We are confident that Esli has a bright future and are happy for her to represent Date Elementary School."
