Board of Education Meetings


The regular Board of Education Meetings are normally held the first and third Wednesday of the month at the John Piazza Education Center at 6:00 pm.  However, the Board reserves the right to change dates, times, and locations of regular meetings for cause when such action is taken at a prior Board Meeting.  If you are a Fontana Time Warner Cable subscriber, you can see the board meeting live on channel 17 (and rebroadcast each weekend at 12:00 noon and the following Wednesday at 6:00 pm).

Times are allotted at Board of Education meetings for the General Public to address the Board, both on Closed Session and Regular Meeting items.  Persons wishing to address the Board are requested to fill out a "Registration Card to Address the Board" and adhere to the provisions described therein.  Please submit this card to the Recording Secretary at the meeting prior to the call to order.

At this time, members of the public may address the Board on an item not on the agenda. Comments should relate to items of public interest within the Board’s jurisdiction.  The Board will provide time during the discussion of each agenda item for members of the public to comment.  The law prohibits the Board from taking action on items not on the agenda.

Board members are restricted from responding directly to the comments, but speakers are assured that their comments are very important and will be addressed in a different forum.  This is not meant to be a debating period.  If appropriate, your comments will be referred to staff for response.  Persons wishing a written response to concerns or complaints may see the Recording Secretary for a written complaint form.

When addressing the Board, please state your name at the podium and limit your remarks to five (5) minutes.  Further comments may be recognized by the President during the meeting.  Speakers are cautioned that under California law no person is immune from liability for making intentionally false or defamatory comments regarding any person simply because those comments are made at a public meeting.
