Child Nutrition
The Fontana Child Nutrition Department provides infants, students, and staff with nutritional foods and provides
information about the nutrients in the foods that are served. We provide breakfast, lunch and snacks
at all sites. We also serve meals to infants,
daycares, after school programs, state preschools, Teachers as Parents Programs, Summer Schools, and alternative
education programs.

Parents: If you have available time during
your child's school day, please consider signing-up to work in the
school's cafeteria or seek employment as a permanent kitchen assistant.

Point of Sales System
A recent technological advance in our program has been the
use of computers at our serving lines. Today, Child Nutrition utilizes a
point of sales system called MealTime which includes the utilization of cash
registers and key pads to maintain student meal accounts. The way the
system works is students are assigned a 4-6 digit identification number.
Prior to receiving a meal, they enter their identification number on a key pad.
The meal is then charged to their account.
This system also allows parents to prepay for child(ren)'s meals for up to one year. Current acceptable methods of
payment are cash and check. All payments made by check should be made
payable to FUSD Child Nutrition and may be submitted at the child(ren)'s
school site cafeteria.
