The Fontana Unified School District provides free and reduced-price meals for
children served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast
Program. Each year households wishing to qualify for free and reduced-price meal
benefits must submit a new household meal application. One household application
should be completed for all students in the household that attend Fontana
Unified schools, to ensure all students receive benefits. However, each foster
child must be listed on separate meal applications, as they are considered a
household of one.
The household size and income criteria identified in
this chart is used to determine eligibility for free,
reduced-price or full-price meal benefits. Children from households whose income
is at or below the levels shown are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. Children who receive benefits through the Food Stamp program, California Work
Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKS), Kinship Guardianship
Assistance Payments (Kin-GAP), or Food Distribution Program on Indian
Reservations (FDPIR) are automatically eligible for free meals regardless of the
income of the household in which they reside.
In addition, 19 school sites in the Fontana Unified School District qualified to
be Provision 2 sites. Provision 2 sites feed all students enrolled at the site
breakfast and lunch at not charge. The following sites are those qualified to be
