Alcohol and Other Drug Intervention Program
The Fontana Unified School District offers an Alcohol and Other Drug
Intervention Program, free of charge, to any student enrolled within the
district. The program is available on a voluntary basis. Parent
consent is necessary for students under 18 years of age. This program
meets the obligation for students with court mandates or probation requirements.
The program is offered in a small group format of 5-12 students and is held at
the district office complex.
The intervention program is a minimum of 12 weeks in length, with 2 sessions
each week. Classes are offered after school hours. All new intakes
are done during the morning hours, between 8 and 10 am. Random drug
testing is provided throughout the program. To successfully complete the AOD Intervention Program, the student must test clean (negative) for three
months (90 days) and attend all classes.
Parent nights are held monthly in both English and Spanish. Information
and parenting strategies are offered to assist the families.
Students are monitored for one year after completing the program.
Random drug testing, academic progress checks, attendance monitoring and
discipline interventions are offered as part of the follow-up program.
