Course Offerings:
Computer Applications IA 6081 One Semester 9, 10, 11, 12 Students will work on classroom computers, with the emphasis on increasing speed and accuracy. Document production is the focus of this class. Students will learn and practice intermediate word processing concepts. They will also complete job simulations. An electronic portfolio will be developed. Computer Applications IB 6082 One Semester 9, 10, 11, 12 Pre-requisite: grade of C or better in Comp. Introduction to Business 6070 One Semester 9, 10, 11, 12 Pre-requisite: grade of C or better in Comp. Application 1 Exposes student to the varied career possibilities in the world of business. It is a survey course intended to serve as the foundation for advanced business courses. Basic skills acquisition and simulations of the business world will be used to give students a sense of what the work world is like. Marketing Essentials 6095 One Semester 9, 10, 11, 12 Prerequisite: grade of C or better in Comp. Applications 1 This course focuses on career, leadership, and marketing core knowledge. This class provides instruction to those students seeking employment in any marketing occupation. It is valuable to those planning to major in marketing, management, or business at a college or university. This course is necessary for students who wish to own their own business. This course also covers selling, promotion, distribution, buying, pricing, and product planning and their relationship to the competitive enterprise system. MOS Certification 1 – MS Word & PowerPoint 6078 First Semester 10, 11, 12 Pre-requisite: grade of C or better in Comp. Applications 1 MOS certification is designed to prepare students to take the Microsoft Office Specialist Exams. MOS is a certification program sponsored by Microsoft to help people prove their ability to use the Office programs. The MOS certification helps fulfill the demand for qualified, knowledgeable people in the modern workplace. This course is designed for students who want to master the powerful features of Microsoft. Students acquiring certification from Microsoft are eligible for some college credits. MOS Certification 2 – MS Excel & Access 6078 Second Semester 10, 11, 12 Pre-requisite: grade of C or better in Comp. Applications 1 MOS certification is designed to prepare students to take the Microsoft Office Specialist Exams. MOS is a certification program sponsored by Microsoft to help people prove their ability to use the Office programs. The MOS certification helps fulfill the demand for qualified, knowledgeable people in the modern workplace. This course is designed for students who want to master the powerful features of Microsoft.
