Course Offerings:
Competitive Drill 8500/10One Year 9, 10, 11, 12 Pre-Requisite: Competition Drill must have permission from the ROTC instructor. Cadets are selected for female or male drill teams and color guard units. Cadets participate in competition drill with other ROTC schools. This class is offered during 6th period and after school. Leadership Cadet Staff 8505One Year 10, 11, 12 Cadets selected for staff billets in battalion and companies plan and execute staff planning for cadet corps during the school year. Cadets must maintain a 2.0 grade point average each semester to enroll in this class and maintain leadership billets. Leadership 1 (ROTC) 8515 One Year 9, 10 Freshmen or sophomores: Leadership Education 1 introduces the cadets to the major subjects to lay a foundation for the grade levels to follow. This course emphasizes discipline to development of leadership traits, and Army Corps drill and ceremonies. Leadership 2 (ROTC) 8520 One Year 10, 11 This second-year course is designed for high school sophomores or juniors. It explores each subject in greater detail than Leadership 1, and it emphasizes leadership theory, style and principles. Some leadership roles are assigned to second-year cadets. Leadership 3 (ROTC) 8530 One Year 11, 12 The third-year course is designed for high school juniors or seniors. It emphasizes leadership training, with detailed instruction in Military History and Geography and cadet presentations (Speech). Leadership 4 (ROTC) 8540 One Year 12 The fourth-year curriculum deals with American Government, drill and leadership presentations to students or community groups. (American Government Credit) Air Rifle Safety and Marksmanship One Year 9, 10, 11, 12 In this course the cadets will identify different human marksmanship skills and recognize their historic applications. They will learn the main parts of a firearm and the safe handling of such. |
