Physical Education
Course Offerings:
PE 1 PE 2 Adaptive PE
PE 1 8010Satisfies PE graduation requirement Designed for ninth graders. This introductory course exposes students to a variety of different sports. An emphasizes on fitness-for-life skills. PE 2 8020Satisfies PE graduation requirement Prerequisite: PE 1 Designed for tenth graders and upperclassmen. Each quarter students choose a sports activity of interest to them. Adaptive PE 8110One Semester 9, 10, 11, 12 Satisfies PE graduation requirement Pre-requisite: Doctor’s medical request and District approval For students medically excused from regular physical education for a period of more than six weeks. Students take part in modified physical activities, according to their individual needs. Course may be repeated for credit.
All the above courses may be repeated for credit. Limitation: Only one PE class is allowed per semester
ATHLETIC PE
Course Offerings
To be eligible for participation in sports activities taking place beyond the regular school day, a student must be passing in at least four classes and earn a C average the semester prior to the sports activity.
THE APPROVAL OF THE COACH, FOR A PARTICULAR SPORT ACTIVITY, IS REQUIRED BEFORE A STUDENT IS PLACED IN AN ATHLETIC P.E. CLASS. |
