Meet Mr. Gorge Santiago

Mr. SantiagoThe 2008-2009 school year represented the fourth year that Mr. Gorge Santiago has been Principal at Oleander Elementary.  Prior to that, Mr. Santiago was Assistant Principal at Juniper Elementary for three years, and a teacher at Redwood Elementary.

Mr. Santiago’s connections to Fontana Unified extend beyond the 13 years he has taught and been an administrator. Mr. Santiago is a byproduct of the Fontana Unified School District.  He attended elementary at Redwood Elementary (where he would later teach), then Sequoia Junior High (before it became a middle School), and graduated in 1986 from Fontana High (Go Steelers!).

Mr. Santiago is passionate about students receiving a quality education.  He believes the key to seeing students succeed is developing a relationship with each student, and making each student feel that they are important.  He endeavors every year to learn the name of every student, and makes it a point to greet each student by name.  Mr. Santiago is a life long baseball fan, and a life long Dodger fan.  One of his greatest moments was in 1994 when a baseball team he was coaching, the Fontana Force, one the Gold Medal in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) 14 and under tournament.  Mr. Santiago attends Inland Lighthouse Church in Rialto, and is engaged to be married in July.  His fiancé is Kimberly and his son to be is Matthew.
