Chief's Message
Chief Robert Ratcliffe
The men and women of the Fontana Unified School District Police Department are a committed group of individuals who share a common goal of overseeing the safety of all students, faculty, and staff members who attend our schools. There are many hurdles that must be overcome in the educational process, but fear and insecurity associated with criminal activity should never be an issue. Our dedicated officers and support personnel sincerely care about the students within the district and want to make sure they feel protected while pursuing their educational goals. Being a police officer in modern America is a challenging, dangerous, but yet a rewarding career. The level of tenacity and resolve required to offer a full range of police services to this community within a greater community is unmatched in other facets of modern policing.
Officers of this agency pride themselves on our department motto, “Protecting Students, Building Futures.” The very framework of these simple words stands for our daily mission of ensuring the safety and security of our students while having the ability to counsel, help, and direct our young people into making future goals for themselves. As Chief of the Fontana School Police Department I am honored to work alongside the great men and women within the department, and throughout the district, to make this one of the finest and safest places to learn in the country.
