What's New?

March 1, 2007 - I am pleased to announce the promotions of Officers Shanen and Mundrick to the rank of corporal. Both Sean and Matt did very well on their tests and represented our department very well. HR is working to have their promotions ready for board approval at the March 21st school board meeting. Matt and Sean are eager to assume their new roles and I have no doubt they'll do a great job as our new corporals. Congratulations to them both! - Chief Alan Hostetter.

February 19, 2007 - a private security company has taken over patrol of district properties during graveyard and weekends. This has allowed School Police officers to be shifted to daytime school hours. An additional officer has been assigned to Fontana High School and A.B. Miller High School. In addition to assigning an officer to Summit High School.

Dispatch is in the process of having a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and records management system installed to provide detail tracking of calls for service and report generation of incidents.

A video surveillance program is being developed to provide coverage on all the high school and middle school campuses. This will be a great tool as a deterent to crime and provide the ability to collect video evidence of the perpetrators as they commit the crime.
