Lime Elementary School
*Name of School Officially Changed to Dorothy Grant Elementary School by FUSD Board of Education on 1/21/04

Groundbreaking Ceremony

On November 19, 2003, the Groundbreaking Ceremony was held for Fontana Unified School District's elementary school #27, Lime Elementary School.  The ceremony was attended by Fontana Unified School District Board Members, district and county administration, as well as local government representatives.  Also in attendance were representatives from PSWC Architects, architect of Lime Elementary School, and Tardos & Yousef, the contractor.

Many speakers noted that Fontana is growing so quickly that schools get built before "groundbreaking" can be scheduled.

The school at the nine-acre site, located north of Baseline Avenue and west of Almeria Avenue, was designed to accommodate 600 students on a single-track calendar.  Lime Elementary School is scheduled to open in July 2004.
