We are facing one of the most challenging and exciting times in education as we work to
continue offering a quality education for all students. The Live Oak staff is committed to providing our students a stimulating curriculum in a flexible and
supportive
learning environment. We encourage academic, social, physical and interpersonal growth. Live Oak's programs are designed to build upon the students strengths to
ensure
they will have a positive school experience and develop a lifelong quest for knowledge. An important goal at our school is the development of a high quality
educational
program that will prepare all students for a life in a fast and changing complex world. Live Oak strives for excellence with an environment that is conducive to
learning and teaching.

Live Oak Elementary School is one of twenty-nine elementary schools in the
Fontana Unified School District. It is a single-track, year-round school
with a student population of approximately 600 students in preschool through grade
six. Over the past several years our
student population has changed rapidly, and today Live Oak Elementary School is a rich mixture of
94.2% Hispanic, 2% Caucasian, 2.4% Other ethnic backgrounds and 1.4% African-American. Live Oak continues to have a very active PTA. Live Oak parents are
involved in
other school support groups including the School Site Council and the Bilingual Advisory Council. Parents volunteer in classrooms and are an important part of
Live Oak's
planning process. The Mission of the school as adopted by the entire staff (teachers, administrators, classified, Site Council, etc.) is: Live Oak School will
provide opportunities for all students to succeed in a challenging program. The program addresses the
students' unique needs, and allows all children to develop to their fullest potential.
Vision:
- All students will succeed academically.
- All students will be actively engaged in learning.
- Staff, students, and parents will have high expectations for
themselves and each other.
- Students will exhibit appropriate social skills, a positive self image, and respect for all cultures.
In its effort to achieve this Mission the school works closely with several community groups, the Fontana Teachers' Association, Performing
Arts Center, County agencies, the police, sheriff and fire departments, as well as a variety of Southern California scientific and cultural institutions that
offer field
trips and services to broaden students' horizons.
